Theatre Classes:
Theatre I
Theatre I offers the opportunity for a variety of performance experiences, which include but are not limited to ensemble building, acting fundamentals, character development, monologues, scene work, and improvisation. Major emphasis of the class is on developing beginning acting skills and self-esteem in the theatre.
Theatre II
Theatre II offers the opportunity for a variety of comedy and tragedy based performance experiences, beginning with an exploration of the origins of comedy performance including mask and Commedia Dell'arte, and ending in an improvisation-based "Saturday Night Live" performance that encompasses parody, original skits, and improv. Major emphasis of the class is on further developing acting skills, self-esteem in the theatre, and audience preparation.
Theatre III
Theatre III emphasizes the development of higher acting and directorial skills. Over the course of a semester, students will dive into the world of directing and devising in order to create a student-written and directed short show. Additional course content in Theatre III includes acting techniques and musical theatre.
Theatre Production Ensemble
Theatre Production Ensemble will provide students the opportunity to develop advanced production and acting techniques. Play production is the core of this class. Students will produce student directed One Act performances or cabaret first semester and a student writing and directed production second semester.



Tech Theatre Classes:
Technical Theatre I
The Technical Theatre I course offers the beginning mechanics of technical theatre education by giving students the opportunity to develop the skills of a crewmember. Semester course skills include but are not limited to: Scenic construction and design, drafting, scenic painting techniques and design, light hang/focus and design, costuming, and more.
Technical Theatre II
This course offers the serious technical theatre student the opportunity to participate in the phases of technical theatre. Course work may include the following: advanced scene design, advanced lighting design, advanced sound design, stagecraft, publicity, make-up, costumes, theatre organization, and management. Students may be required to participate in after-school productions and assume crew responsibilities.
Technical Theatre III
Technical Theatre III is a course that provides students the opportunity to advance their knowledge and practical application of technical theater skills within an educational environment. Within this course students will learn and apply leadership and management skills related to the technical theater field. Students will practically implement their previous technical theater knowledge on realized educational productions and explore ways to find and create other opportunities that utilize their technical abilities both inside their school as well as their community. Upon the completion of this course students should have the knowledge, skills, and materials needed to apply for jobs within a technical theater career. This course may require after school participation/leadership within the school productions, activities. as well as other community projects.
